Our Automatic Generators
Reliably protect your home from power outages... Whether you’re home or away!
How It Works:
The components of a Kohler backup power system include the generator, transfer switch, battery charger and carburetor heater. The automatic transfer switch is the “brain” of your backup power system. It continually monitors your home’s power and within seconds of an outage, automatically starts the generator and transfers the electrical loads from the utility to your generator. Your home is then running strictly on KOHLER® power. When utility power is restored, the transfer switch signals the generator to shut down. Your Kohler Power System then returns to standby mode, ready for the next power outage. Simple as that. If the power quality from the utility drops or even browns out, the generator will take over the electrical loads before a full outage occurs, protecting your sensitive electronics and appliances. Kohler generators are also programmed to perform an automatic weekly maintenance test to ensure they are in proper operating order and ready to start and run when needed. Independent Power offers scheduled maintenance service to keep your backup power system operating at peak performance.
