How It Works:
Safe, even and comfortable heat
The E-Classic outdoor furnace is designed to work with any existing heating system. Water-to-air or water-to-water heat exchangers or direct circulation conveys
the heat into the structure’s forced air furnace, boiler or radiant floor heating system. This allows for normal thermostatic control of temperature for safe, even and comfortable heat.
The E-Classic is installed outside, typically 30 to 200 feet (but as far as 500 feet) away from the home or building being heated.
A water jacket surrounds the furnace firebox and heated water from the outdoor furnace is pumped to the home or building through insulated, underground ThermoPEX piping – the most efficient way to move heat over distances.
ThermoPEX™ Insulated Piping System
 ThermoPEX (download brochure) is a flexible
pre-insulated piping system that saves energy and
maximizes the efficiency of your outdoor furnace.
ThermoPEX consists of two 1-inch oxygen barrier Central
PEX® lines or two 1 ¼”-inch oxygen barrier PEX lines
(supply and return) that are insulated with high density
urethane insulation and a thick, durable, waterproof,
UV-protected polyethylene outer jacket.
It comes pre-assembled and ready to install. No special tools or equipment are
required. With an outside diameter of 4 3/8” for the 1” Central PEX lines or 5” for
the 1 ¼” PEX lines, ThermoPEX only needs a narrow trench for installation. It can
also be used above ground for quick, temporary winter installs.
ThermoPEX saves energy and maximizes efficiency.
Heat loss is virtually
unmeasurable, less than 1 degree F over 100 feet. Greater system efficiency
maximizes the delivery of heat. That means you will burn less wood compared to
a system using inferior insulated piping. ThermoPEX is the best insulated piping
system available for your outdoor furnace.
